Card Gatherly support

How can we help?

Help with scanning, saved cards, folders, reports, and purchases.

Contact Card Gatherly

Support is provided by Andrew Bathe. Include your device model, app version/build, and what happened. Please remove private contact information from screenshots before sending them. You can also copy this email address into your preferred email service.

Scanning & editing

How do I scan a card?

Tap + to create a contact, choose Front, and tap Scan Card. Keep all card edges visible with good lighting. In the document scanner, review the capture and tap Save. Text reading starts automatically. Review the suggested fields before saving the contact. Open Back separately if you want to scan the reverse.

What if a company name or number is wrong?

Text recognition can misread decorative logos, small print, or blurred photos. You can edit any contact field, choose text from the recognized lines, or retry text recognition. In the latest update, additional numbers can have custom labels such as “24-Hour Towing.” Suggestions do not automatically replace details you have already entered.

What if the camera takes more than one picture?

The corrected scanner uses the last retained capture for the side you selected. Review the retained pages before tapping Save. If your version reports a one-photo error, keep one page in the scanner and remove extra captures before saving, or contact support for update guidance.

Why can’t I open the camera?

Check the camera permission for Card Gatherly in your device’s Settings. You can also use Import to choose an existing card photo. Camera access is only needed for taking a new photo.

Cards & backups

Where are my cards stored?

Card details and front/back photos are stored locally in the app on your device. There is no Card Gatherly account or automatic contact sync between devices. Your device’s backup settings may include app data.

How do I back up my cards?

Open the app menu and choose Back Up All Cards & Photos, then save the file to a location you control. This backup includes photos, details, and folders. A CSV report contains text fields, not card images. Keep backup files private because they contain contact information.

How do I restore a backup?

Choose Restore Card Backup from the app menu, select your backup file, and review the confirmation. Matching card IDs use the backup’s details and photos; other existing cards remain. Restoring the same backup does not intentionally create a second copy of the same card ID.

My cards seem to be missing after an update.

Do not delete or reinstall the app. Choose All Folders or Unfiled, clear search and radius filters, and check again. If cards are still missing, contact support. If available, include a storage report from the app menu, but do not email your full card backup unless you deliberately intend to share its contents.

Folders & reports

How do I keep personal cards out of a work report?

Create separate Work and Personal folders, and move each card into the right folder. Select Work before exporting. Reports use the active folder, search/radius filters, and card selection. All Folders includes personal cards too. Check the export count and report before sharing.

What does a ZIP-radius search use?

When you start a radius search, the app sends the ZIP you enter and contact address information to Apple’s geocoding service. It does not need GPS access. Distances are approximate straight-line estimates, not driving distances; unmatched addresses are excluded.

Purchases

What is included in the free version?

The app offers five free card additions. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks more card additions and CSV sharing. Deleting cards does not reset the free allowance. Existing saved cards remain available to view and edit. The purchase screen shows the current price.

How do I restore my purchase?

Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase, open the app’s Full Version screen, and tap Restore Purchases. An internet connection is required. If access does not return, contact support and include the app version and purchase diagnostics if available.

How do I request a refund?

Apple processes in-app purchases. Visit Apple’s Report a Problem page to review purchase details or request a refund. Approval is determined by Apple.

Some features described here require the latest app update. For information about data use and deletion, read the Privacy Policy.
