Who we are
Card Gatherly is provided by Andrew Bathe (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy covers the Card Gatherly mobile app and this support website. For privacy questions, contact apphelpab@gmail.com.
Card details, images, and text recognition
You may capture or import front/back card images and enter or correct names, companies, job titles, phone numbers and labels, email addresses, websites, postal addresses, notes, and folders. The app also stores recognized text, card identifiers, update dates, and a lifetime card-addition count used for the free allowance.
This information is used to display, organize, search, and export your cards and to suggest contact details from images. Apple’s on-device text-recognition technology processes card photos locally. Photos are not sent to a cloud AI service for recognition by this app.
The app requests camera permission when you scan a new card. Import uses Apple’s photo picker to access the images you select. The app does not require access to your device’s address book or precise GPS location.
Apple services and purchases
ZIP-radius searches: When you choose to run a radius search, the entered ZIP code and address information for contacts in the selected folder are sent to Apple’s geocoding service to estimate locations and distances. This feature requires a network connection. Do not use it for addresses you do not want to send to that service.
In-app purchases: Apple processes payments. The app uses StoreKit to retrieve product information and verify purchase entitlement, including restores. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple may process purchase and service information under its own privacy practices.
Device backups: Depending on your Apple device settings, local app data may be included in iCloud or computer backups. Apple’s services are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and applicable service terms.
Exports, sharing, and backups
When you choose to export or share, the app creates the requested file and opens the device’s sharing controls. CSV reports can include contact details, custom phone labels, notes, folder names, recognized text, and update dates. Full card backups also include card images and identifiers. Storage or purchase diagnostic reports may include app identifiers, version/build information, counts, file metadata, purchase product identifiers, and error messages.
You choose where these files go. A recipient, cloud-drive provider, email service, or other destination may process them under its own policies. Exported files are separate copies; changing or deleting a card in the app does not remove those copies. Store and share them only with appropriate permission.
We do not sell your card information or use it for targeted advertising. The reviewed app does not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.
Support messages and this website
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you send. We use that information to respond, investigate issues, and maintain support records. Email is handled by our email service provider. Avoid sending other people’s contact details unless necessary and you have permission.
This website provides app information, support links, and this policy. It does not ask you to upload cards, create an account, or submit payment information. We have not added advertising, analytics scripts, or marketing cookies. The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, and server logs, to deliver and secure the website.
Service providers may process information needed to deliver hosting, email, or platform services. We do not authorize them to use card data we receive through support for unrelated advertising. Access to support information is limited to what is needed to handle the request.
Retention and deletion
Active cards: Cards remain in local app storage until you delete them or remove the app. Deleting a card removes it from the active library. The app may keep local recovery snapshots of an earlier library, so a deleted card can remain in those snapshots. Removing the app clears its local storage, including those local snapshots; this also removes other locally saved cards. Back up anything you intend to keep first.
Separate backups: Exported files, iCloud/computer backups, and copies shared with others are not deleted by deleting an active card or removing the app. Manage those copies in the location where you saved them. We cannot remotely access, recover, or erase card files on your device.
Support records: We retain support correspondence while needed to resolve requests and maintain relevant support records, subject to any legal retention requirements. You may email us to request deletion of information you sent us. Some provider backups or legally required records may persist beyond deletion from active support records.
Your choices and requests
- Review, correct, or delete saved cards in the app.
- Revoke camera access in your device’s Settings; importing photos remains an alternative.
- Choose whether to use online radius searches or share any report, backup, or diagnostic file.
- Manage app backups and purchase settings through your Apple Account and device settings.
- Email us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have sent directly to support. We may need to verify your request before acting.
No Card Gatherly account is required, and there is no in-app account to delete. Your applicable privacy rights may vary by location.
Security and children
The app uses device storage protections available through iOS. Protect your device with a passcode and keep backups secure. No device or method of transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Card Gatherly is intended for general contact organization and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support service, contact us so we can review and address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or its data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, in app update information.
